چکیده
Civil engineering structures are designed from the knowledge of soil properties at given site. This research work is for Investigation index and Areka town subgrade soils. To investigate these ten test pits were selected by dividing total area in to parts based on expansion potential current distribution gravel road according municipality town. The samples per pit up 3m depth, collected open direct manual excavation. During field testing, density natural moisture content tests done.[15] laboratory that carried out includes content, particle size distribution, specific gravity, Atterberg limits (LL PL), compaction (OMC MDD), CBR swelling conducted. From results obtained grain analysis, classification systems (USCS AASHTO). According this research, Natural Moisture ranged between 8.0-12.0%, dry 1.66 – 1.87( g/cc) , fraction 9.18-16.19 %, sand 22.30-54.26 silt 15.82-47.69 Clay 9.0-35.5%, Specific Gravity ranges 2.58-2.78, Plasticity Index 8.21- 14.61%,, GI 4 11 under A-4, A-6, A-7-5 A-7-6 AASHTO M145 inorganic silts medium compressibility unified system OMC 10.14% 21.37 MDD 1.77 g/cc 1.98g/cc, swell 1.42- 1.92% value 6.31-8.76 (%) as result indicate values below 2%, therefore they good use a pavement construction [6]. above 5% so [11]. all strength class TP1, TP6, TP9, TP10 S3; remaining S4 [7].; thus, has bearing capacity [4].
